GoodSam ("we", "us") operates the GoodSam mobile app and website (goodsam.help). This page describes what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Account info: name, email, ZIP code, user type (helper or seeker).
- Optional demographics: birth year, gender, ethnicity, disability status — used only in aggregate to improve outreach.
- Posts you create: bulletin posts, requests, and the address/location you attach to them.
- Device info: anonymous usage analytics, crash reports.
How we use it
- To match helpers with nearby seekers and bulletin posts.
- To send notifications you've opted into.
- To improve the service and report aggregate community impact to partner organizations.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not display your demographics to other users.
- We do not share precise location with other users — only approximate distance.
